A Bolt-In Fan Upgrade for Your 1984-1989 C4 Corvette
With a factory computer controlled cooling fan it is often difficult to increase cooling system efficiency without having to hack the factory parts up and cobble things together to try and upgrade the cooling system’s electric cooling fan. At DeWitts we know Corvette owners are above that and want something that is a bolt-in solution that provides a solid cooling improvement as well. Our engineers have put together a great electric cooling fan upgrade that not only bolts right in and requires zero wiring modifications, but also provides a nearly 30 percent improvement in air flow.
Our 16-inch SPAL fans for the early C4 Corvettes (1984-1989 model years) are designed to mount to the stock plastic radiator shroud/surround assembly and are retained by the stock cooling fan’s four retaining bolts. This kit uses a 16-inch SPAL radiator fan that pulls 2,360 cfm through your radiator core to keep your temps in check. The included aluminum fan Direct Fit® adapter plate provides a solid mounting surface for the fan and allows it to easily replace the stock fan assembly with nothing more than a little hand tool labor.
All SPAL electric fans feature IP68 rated waterproof and sealed motors that are fully balanced with low-noise blade designs. This electric cooling fan kit can provide up to a 30 percent improvement in cooling capacity for your early model C4 Corvette, and best of all there is no wiring modifications needed. We provide an OE-spec plug on our electric cooling fan upgrade that plugs right into your Corvette’s fan wiring harness. Four mounting bolts and a single electrical plug is all that is between you and increased cooling in your 1984-1989 Corvette.
